The Alsatian Christmas Market brings the North-East of France to Paris during the holiday season hence it is a must go destination for those who doesn’t have the chance to go to the region itself. The Alsace region, recognized for its wine and colorful half-timbered houses, is also acknowledged for its Christmas magic. Several outstanding Christmas markets are held in this region, including some of Europe’s largest ones, such as Strasbourg’s or Colmar’s.
To take part in the alsatian festive experience 15 local producers, coming from the region, are offering their regional gastronomy. You can tantalize your taste buds with fresh pasta, eau-de-vie, foie gras, mannele, gingerbread and of course the Alsatian wine. They usually offer food tasting as well so this is an opportunity not to waste.
The Alsatian Christmas Market in Paris is situated under a marquee set on the forecourt of the railway station in Gare de l’Est, with trains servicing the Alsace. Additionally, this market is the oldest one organized by Alsace and which does not take place in the region.
