The Vogelenmarkt (Bird Market) is probably the most famous and one of the oldest markets in Antwerp. In recent years it has become a bit of a tourist attraction. The market mostly lost its original purpose of professionals buying and selling racing pigeons, carrier pigeons, exotic birds and other small pets. Today you can still find some of those (also look on the Graanmarkt around the corner), but it turned into a more generic market where you can buy flowers, antiques, textiles, jewellery, and more.
