The Leuven Christmas Market is celebrating its 37th edition in 2025, a tradition that started back in 1988. The market takes over two central squares of the city, the Ladeuzeplein and the Herbert Hooverplein with more than 100 stands selling Christmas gifts, decorations, toys, jewellery and winter accessories, regional delicacies and more.
You’ll also find plenty of places to grab a hot or cold drink or try special snacks from around the world. Alongside Belgian vendors, you’ll meet stallholders from the Netherlands, France, Germany, Hungary, the UK, and Luxembourg. It’s like taking a little trip around Europe without leaving this historic university city in Flemish Brabant, located about 25 kilometres east of Brussels.
