The St Nicholas Indoor Market, also called St Nick’s, is a Bristol institution, with the city’s residents heading here to shop since 1743. Home to local landmarks (check out the clock running on “Bristol time” on its exterior), it offers an unmissable shopping and eating experience in the Old City.
Wind your way through a labyrinth of over 60 stalls and small stores, selling quirky trinkets, homewares, clothes, art and more. Meanwhile, The Glass Arcade is a favourite lunchtime hangout. Here you’ll find a global selection of filling fare, with some leading names from the Bristol food scene among the list of stallholders, like Pieminister and Eat a Pitta. Definitely come hungry!
Time your visit right and you’ll also be able to enjoy one of the regular outdoor markets running on Corn Street, just outsideΒ St Nicholas Indoor Market. Plus, there are plenty more independent shops, excellent restaurants and local attractions in easy reach.
