The L’Isle sur la Sorgue Flea Market takes place every Sunday on the Avenue des Quatre Otages in the Provençal town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, in the South of France. Every Sunday year-round, the street transforms into an open-air flea market.
For nearly 40 years, this weekly market has been central to shaping the town’s identity and building its international reputation as a premier antiques destination. The Sunday flea market has become an essential part of what makes L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue one of Europe’s most celebrated treasure-hunting spots.
Since 2003, the city has worked closely with ABIS (Association of Second-Hand Dealers of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue) to maintain high standards throughout the market. This quality-focused approach ensures that each exhibitor commits to presenting only top-quality merchandise within the market grounds, giving shoppers confidence in their purchases.
Known as the third largest European centre for antiques after London and Paris, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is also home to around 300 permanent antique dealers, creating multiple “antique villages“ and a twice-yearly antiques fair. The riverside town earned its reputation as the biggest antiques centre in France outside of Paris
