The Wazemmes Market, located in the Wazemmes district of Lille, is one of the largest markets in France. The market is made up of the indoor and the outdoor markets.
The indoor section of the Wazemmes Market, known as the “Marché Couvert de Wazemmes” or Wazemmes Covered Market, is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday. Under the traditional, iron-framed market hall you’ll find vendors selling a variety of goods, including fresh fruit and vegetables, ready to eat dishes, meats, cheeses, baked goods, fish and seafood, regional sausages, and other specialty items.
The outdoor markets operates three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Sunday is the most popular day, with the market sprawling across the Place de la Nouvelle Aventure and the surrounding streets. There are a mix of vendors selling flowers, fabrics, antiques, bric-a-brac, imported clothes and accessories, as well as produce, candy and other foodstuffs.
