The Theresienwiese Flea Market is a flea market part of the Spring Festival of Munich, Germany. The Spring Festival (Frühlingsfest) on Theresienwiese is an annual folk festival. It is also known as the “little sister of the Oktoberfest” as it’s held at the same location with similar attractions. The festival lasts two weeks and always begins in mid-April.
One Saturday during the festival the Bavarian Red Cross organises the Theresienwiese flea market. The traders set up their stalls at dawn and from 7am the first bargain hunters can enter the flea market to look for treasures. The popular flea market is one of the largest in southern Germany. Items you can find at the market include books, crockery, decorative items, jewelry, watches, records, clothing, pictures, art objects, toys, kitchen appliances, antiques, and more.
The stall rental and parking fees directly support the Munich Red Cross’s vital community work. These funds enable essential training and equipment for volunteer medical personnel, caregivers, disaster response teams, and water rescue services, strengthening the organization’s ability to serve those in need across Munich.
