Located in the south of Hungary, the small town of Mórahalom hosts the third largest monthly market in the entire country selling all kinds of wares such as clothes, antiques, hardware, toys, homeware, kitchenware, baskets, second-hand items, candy and more. There is a saying that if you can’t find something at market in Mórahalom, it doesn’t exist!
On the third Sunday of every month the fairgrounds stir with excitement, as vendors arrive with the dawn’s first light, offering their treasures to the eager shoppers’ delight. The path through long lines of stalls unveils a wealth of wares, from antiques to metalware, clothes, and trinkets, the possibilities are endless.
As visitors explore, the scent of food fills the air, food stalls teem with traditional Hungarian dishes and sweets such as kürtőskalács (chimney cake), sausages, fries, pancakes, and sandwiches to satiate any hunger.
If you’re interested in animals, there’s a big selection of farm animals and pets waiting for new owners, which is quite a sight.
