Market Hall Nine in Berlin won’t disappoint you cause this indoor market always has a market you can visit. It reopened in October 2011, 120 years after its original opening.
It hosts a daily small market from Monday to Thursday where you mostly find essentials such as bread, vegetables, fruits, meat, cheese, fresh pasta, and wine. Every Friday and Saturday, the bigger weekly market takes place with a wider selection, featuring vegetables from Spreewald and Havelland, poultry from Prignitz, fish from the cutter, and bread from Kreuzberg. But there’s much more – experience Japanese culinary delights and find pistachios, herbs, honey, and coffee directly from the producers.
Every Thursday, it transforms into a little street food festival. As they say, you can get to know a culture the most by its food; well, Market Hall Nine is making that happen. The offerings include not just local traditional dishes but also delights from other parts of the world.
