Mercado de Calvià is an open-air market on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Here, one can find seasonal produce such as vegetables and fruits, cheese, “empanadas” and “cocarrois”, ham, olives, clothing, footwear and handicrafts. Each week, mercado de Calvià stands out with its local products and artisanal items. It is held on Calle Major on Monday mornings, and there are about 60 stalls to choose from, making it an ideal stroll through the town whilst capturing the local cuisine and culture. Besides the market experience, the town itself is worth a visit, as it is surrounded by mountains. One might also check out the church of San Juan Bautista, located at the highest point of the town.
