The Hungerburg Christmas Market in Innsbruck is is one of the several Christmas markets in Innsbruck, capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol. Hungerburg is a district of Innsbruck, Austria. It is connected with the city centre through a hybrid funicular railway, the Hungerburgbahn. The Hungerburgbahn station building is designed by world-famous architect, Zaha Hadid.
Perched high above the city, the Hungerburg Christmas Market around the Hungerburgbahn station is a unique and breathtaking holiday experience that combines 360° panoramic views, culinary delights, and a selection of Christmas gifts.
Reaching the Hungerburg Christmas Market is an adventure in itself. Visitors can embark on a memorable journey by taking the Hungerburg cable car, which departs directly from the city centre. Once atop Hungerburg, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views that stretch across Innsbruck and its picturesque surroundings. Tickets for the funicular can be bought online or at the station’s ticket office. The cable car runs from the Congress/Altstadt station.
