For a truly dramatic Christmas market setting, head to the Ravenna Gorge Christmas market, where 40 wooden huts selling traditional handicrafts and Black Forest delicacies lie beneath the illuminated sandstone arches of the Ravenna Viaduct. If you stroll between the Christmas-decorated wooden stalls, you will find handicrafts, regional products and the delicious scent of Black Forest specialties from sweet to savoury. What originated as a small gathering of local vendors under the 40-metre-high bridge has become so popular that it’s now a ticketed event. Tickets (from €5.50) must be bought in advance.
