The Blosengelmarkt in Feldkirch is a pre-Christmas market in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg, bordering on Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Traditionally held the weekend before the first Advent, the Blosengelmarkt marks the start of the Advent season in Feldkirch. It’s an opportunity to enjoy the first mulled wine of the season in the festively decorated Marktgasse in Feldkirch.
The Blosengelmarkt gets its name from a sketch by the late Fidl Schurig, a Feldkirch resident, of an angel with a trumpet – a Blasengel, meaning blowing angel. This sketch is used for the promotional material of the market.
Feldkirch also hosts a Christmas market every year. Click here to learn more!
