Set against the backdrop of a beautiful baroque palace, the Christmas Village at Belvedere Palace offers a cozy and romantic market experience in Vienna during the holiday season.
With approximately 20 stalls, visitors can browse a variety of unique items. Handcrafted jewelry, scented woods, candles, ceramics, and other artisanal products provide excellent opportunities for finding unusual souvenirs for yourself or loved ones.
The market is located in front of the Upper Belvedere palace, which was once home to Prince Eugene of Savoy around 1717. Today, the palace houses a prestigious art collection, including famous works by Gustav Klimt, such as “The Kiss.” Klimt was a key figure in the Vienna Secession movement leaving behind significant painting for us.
For those interested in trying the taste of traditional Austrian and Alpine fare, the market offers a range of options. Sausages, Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake), and Leberkäse (a type of meatloaf) are popular choices. Pairing these with a mug of mulled wine add to your festive experience.
Entrance is free!
