Antiques Bij Sint-Jacobs is a flea market one of the oldest ones in Ghent, and even in Belgium, operating since the early 20th century.
Regular merchants offer a variety of bric-a-brac, making it a great place to discover Belgian culture. You can find vintage clothing, vinyl collections, toys that evoke nostalgia for 70s and 80s babies, posters, and much more.
In summer, if you’re lucky, you might experience the Ghent Festivities, a ten-day cultural festival that makes the market even more vibrant. Located around the Church of St. James, a stage on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, the festival features numerous performances by national and international artists. Recognized as Flemish intangible heritage, it is a unique event in Europe. With plenty of stalls, you won’t go thirsty or hungry. More information about the festivities can be found here!
