It was called Papirøen Streed Food market before but it transformed to this.
Here are five traditional Danish street food worth a try:
- Flæskestegssandwich – a Danish sandwich filled with flæskesteg (pork roast with a crispy rind), braised red cabbage, pickles, mustard, ketchup or mayonnaise.
- Frikadeller – Danish meatballs made with ground pork, sometimes they add fround veal as well. Often served with boiled potatoes and Danish brown sauce on the side.
- Bøfsandwich – Danish American hamburger. Made with thick beef patty put in a bun or bread roll accompanied by different type of sides and pickles, onions, rémoulade.
- Pølser – most common fast food in Denmark. Danish sausage in a bun or bread roll similar as a hot-dog.
- Rød pølse – Danish sausage made from porf meat and smoked over beech wood. There are some spices in it including allspice, cardamom and nutmeg.
