The farmers market in The Hague is held every Wednesday on the Lange Voorhout. The market used to take place at the Dutch parliament, but due constructions it permanently moved to its current location in front of the formal American embassy building. It’s a small market, but you can find all the essentials: fruit and vegetables including lots of seasonal produce, an impressive selection of Dutch and foreign cheeses. There’s a bakery stall selling different kinds of breads including sourdough bread and pastries.
Natuurslagerij Van der Zande, the artisan butcher, has an extensive array of meats and meat products, many of which are not readily found in every supermarket.
Potjes & Deksels is a waste-free mobile grocery store also present at the weekly farmers market in The Hague. They sell packaging-free groceries and cleaning products from organic producers that you can fill into your own jars, containers, and bags. Their goal is to help consumers reduce their use of packaging.
Caro e Pepe offers Italian specialties including fresh focaccia with toppings for a quick and tasty snack.
