The Amsterdam Christmas market, also known as the Christmas Village, takes place on the iconic Museumplein in the heart of the city. Museumplein, which translates to “Museum Square” in English, is one of the most famous and significant public spaces in Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. This large square is surrounded by several world-renowned museums and cultural institutions, such as the Rijskmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and more. The city hosts various events throughout the year on he square, including music concerts, cultural festivals, and outdoor film screenings, making it a dynamic and vibrant gathering place.
The Christmas market in Amsterdam is a delightful combination of indulgent dining and shopping within a magical winter landscape. There are over 45 stalls with handcrafted gifts, Christmas decorations, jewellery, warm wool clothes and accessories, seasonal food and beverages such as poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes), baked potatoes, churros, coconut balls, fondue, Hungarian chimney cake, and more.
