Five times a year at the last Sunday of the month, Lambermontmartre, an open-air painters market is held in Antwerp. The name is a combination of the artists’ district Montmartre in Paris and Lambermont Square in Antwerp, the original location of the market. Today the market is held at several different locations around the city.
The participating artists offer their paintings, drawings, screen prints, postcards, photos, etchings, posters, and artwork. Additionally, a selection of art books is available for purchase here. While space for food and beverages within the market area is restricted, you can indulge in refreshments at the cafes and restaurants situated around Leopold de Wael Square.
Some artists actively engage in their creative process during the fair, offering you the opportunity to witness the creation of various pieces real-time with live music in the background.
