The Sunday Market at Westergas in Amsterdam is a creative market, where you can shop art, design and fashion directly from the creators. The Sunday Market is a travelling market, meaning it takes place at different locations throughout Amsterdam several times each month.
On the first Sunday of the month you’ll find the market at Westergas (or Westergasfabriek), a former gas works complex in Amsterdam that has been transformed into a cultural venue. Located in Westerpark, the industrial heritage site now houses restaurants, cafés, event spaces, a cinema, workspaces, and hosts markets and festivals.
You’ll find stands with art, stationery, home goods, ceramics, sustainable and vintage fashion, bric-à-brac, jewellery, accessories, children’s clothes and toys, and more. There are also a number of excellent food trucks including tacos, fries, Japanese snacks, grilled meat, sandwiches, cookies, organic wine, and more. Besides shopping and enjoying a drink and a bite at the nearby cafes, there is also live music and activities for kids and adults.
The Sunday Market rotates between three locations in Amsterdam and one location in Haarlem:
- First Sunday of the month – Westergas (outdoor)
- Third Sunday of the month: Museumplein (outdoor) – also known as the Museum Market
- Last Sunday of the month from March to October: Rokin (outdoor)
- De Koepel, Haarlem – 5 markets in 2025! (indoor)
The Sunday Market previously held at De Hallen on the second Sunday of each month will no longer take place at this location in 2025.
