The Westermarkt Amsterdam, also called the Westerstraat Market or Lapjesmarkt (fabric market) is an outdoor market, held every Monday morning along the street “Westerstraat” in the Jordaan neighbourhood. Originally a textiles market, in the recent years, Westermarkt went through a transformation, offering often quality clothes and shoes as well besides fabrics sold by the metre. There are over 170 stands every Monday, offering also general goods, cosmetics, small interior decoration objects.
The Westermarkt Amsterdam runs into the Noordermarkt that is also open on Mondays. Here you’ll find more fabric, plus some antiques and second-hand books.
