Montreux Christmas Market (Montreux Noël) is a Christmas market on the shore of Lake Geneva in Montreux, Switzerland. It stretches along the lakeside promenade, through the Grand-Rue and into the covered market, with more than 170 chalets selling handicrafts, jewellery, Christmas decorations, and local food. Along with the stalls, there are fondue and raclette restaurants, takeaway grills, a Ferris wheel, the famous Flying Santa show over the water, Flying Santa Cruise.
The first edition was held in 1995, with 80 chalets on the Grand-Rue and 100,000 visitors over 10 days. Today it draws around 650,000 visitors. The market is now part of Riviera Noël, which links the Montreux, Vevey, and Villeneuve markets. Each year the market also releases a new souvenir mug, which many visitors collect. The train station is about 200 metres from the market, and public transport is recommended.
