The Wiltener Platzl Christmas market is one of the several Christmas markets that take place in Innsbruck, capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol. Wilten is a suburb of Innsburck located on the south side of the city. The Wiltener Platzl is the heart of the Wilten neighbourhood. It has cool cafes, secondhand furniture shops, and places to eat, including takeout options. It’s a key part of Innsbruck’s hip culture scene.
During Advent the little square turns into a magical meeting spot for locals and visitors alike. The Wiltener Platzl Christmas market is officially called Wiltener Weihnachtszauber (Christmas Magic in Wilten). There are a small number of stalls with Austrian and international delicacies (e.g. Sardinia), organic glühwein and handcrafted products. There’s also a puppet theatre and musical performances almost every day, including children’s choirs, pop and R&B singers and more!
