The White Truffle Fair in Alba is the largest truffle-themed international fair that takes place in Alba in Italy’s Piedmont region. The event showcases Italy’s finest white truffles from the woods of Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero. The centrepiece is the World Market where visitors can purchase certified truffles directly from local hunters (Trifulau) and traders.
The fair features wine tastings, cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, and hands-on experiences led by truffle experts. Alongside the market, visitors can explore local delicacies, wines, and participate in traditional festivities, making it a comprehensive celebration of the region’s prized Tuber Magnatum Pico and culinary heritage.
There is a number of specialty markets that complement the Alba White Truffle Fair:
- Alba Langhe and Roero Earth Market: Features small producers and farmers within 50km, curated by Slow Food, offering local produce, wines, honey, cheese, charcuterie, and hazelnut products.
- Albaromatica: A one-day market focusing on aromatic herbs and spices, featuring flavoured liqueurs, teas, and beers, with educational workshops.
- Aromas and Tastes Lounge: Showcases Nocciola Piemonte IGP (local hazelnuts) through tastings and demonstrations, alongside traditional crafts and an antique market.
- Campagna Amica Market: Organized by Coldiretti, featuring fresh local produce and artisanal products, promoting traditional agriculture.
- Regional Specialties Market: Located in Piazza Risorgimento and Via Cavour, offering local cheeses, Porro di Cervere (leeks), mushrooms, Cappone di Morozzo (capon), pralines, nougat, pasta, and regional wines.
