Raritätenbörse Vintage and Design Market (Raritätenbörse Ruhrgebiet) is a twice-a-year fair, drawing international communities of collectors and hobbyists from around the world to hunt for high-quality antiquities and rare vintage collectibles. The translation of the name itself, Raritätenbörse, means rarities exchange (rarität = rarity, börse = exchange/market). Raritätenbörse’s motto is “Klasse statt Masse”, which means “quality over quantity”. You can expect a unique range of pieces from Bauhaus style, classic design, steel furniture, industrial design and mid-century modern design.
The Raritätenbörse Vintage and Design Market is located in the Ruhrgebiet (Ruhr Area), in the Northwest side of Germany. The market takes place at Flottman Halls in Herne, only a 30-minute drive from Essen. Flottmann Halls, a historic industrial complex, has been transformed into an event venue, hosting many exhibitions, markets, and community events throughout the year.
