The Martha’s Vineyard Farmers Market is a seasonal produce market in West Tisbury, a town on Martha’s Vineyard. It operates every Saturday and most Wednesdays during summer season at the Agricultural Hall fairgrounds on Martha’s Vineyard. First established in 1934 and revived 1974, it features approximately 50 vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, prepared foods, flowers, crafts, and other local products. It is the oldest and largest open air market on the Massachusetts island.
The market maintains a rule that no more than one-third of vendors can be non-farmers. Current offerings include traditional farm produce like vegetables and herbs, farm products such as soaps and preserves, prepared foods, and food trucks. Major participating farms include Morning Glory Farm and North Tabor Farm, among others.
A special shoutout to Good Pierogi, using locally sourced ingredients to produce pierogis with seasonal flavours. You can find them at the Martha’s Vineyard Farmers Market in West Tisbury on Wednesdays.
Originally located at the Grange Hall, the market moved to the Agricultural Hall fairgrounds in 2020 due to pandemic social distancing requirements and remained there permanently after approval from the town zoning board in 2022. The new location provides more space and parking, accommodating the market’s growth from its original 11 vendors to its current size.
The market offers free on-site parking and admission, though dogs are not allowed and smoking is prohibited.
