The Marsac Flea Market, known as the Bric-à-Brac de Marsac, is one of the largest vide greniers (yard sales by individuals) in France. It takes place annually on the first weekend of September in the commune of Marsac (16570), about 15km from Angoulême in the Charente department (16) in southwestern France.
Drawing over 10,000 visitors each year, the market sprawls across five hectares of fields. You’ll find a mix of private sellers and professional dealers, offering everything from antique paintings, vintage French linens, and furniture to porcelain, old cameras, books, vinyl records, jewellery, glassware, silverware, vintage clothing, toys, tools and more.
The Marsac Flea Market offers some handy services to make your visit easier. If you’ve purchased more than you can carry, there’s a deposit stand where you can leave your finds free of charge as you continue to browse. For heavy or bulky items like wardrobes, sideboards, appliances or bicycles, there’s a free quad bike and trailer service that can transport them to entrance 3, just ask at the deposit stand. A first aid station is also on site, staffed by a friendly team on both days.
As it’s custom at vide greniers, there’s a sit-down restaurant with a set menu run by the organisers offering sandwiches, grilled meats, chips, wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, fresh fruit and ice cream for an affordable price. Picnics are welcome at the tables, and there’s a bakery on site.
