The Président Wilson Market (Marché Président Wilson) is a produce market in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. It takes place on the Avenue du Président Wilson, between Rue Debrousse and Place d’Iéna.
The market stretches for about 700 meters, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, fish, flowers, and artisanal products. Many stallholders are producers who bring goods directly from their farms or workshops. There are also stalls offering prepared food, French and international alike including Italian and North African. There are also clothes, including cashmere sweaters, jewellery, other accessories and household items for sale. Due to its upscale location and popularity with tourists, prices can be higher than at some other Parisian markets.
While comparable to other street markets in Paris, the Marché Président Wilson is particularly close to my heart. I have passed through it several times on my visits to the City of Light, most of the times unknowingly stumbling upon it on my walks with my sister, making it my first real Parisian market experience. If you are visiting Paris for the first time, or you are taking someone special there, a beautiful Saturday morning activity is going to the Eiffel tower and then walking around 15 minutes to the Président Wilson Market for nice market lunch.
