The Bastille Market (Marché Bastille), formerly knows as the Richard Lenoir market, is a produce market in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. It is one of the biggest Parisian markets, with Place de la Bastille’s Colonne de Juillet as the backdrop. A hundred or so stalls offer a huge range of products such as fresh produce, meats, seafood, and a wide selection of cheeses. The market also features baked goods, flowers, herbs, spices, olives, and preserved foods. Wine and other beverages are available, alongside ready-to-eat meals and international cuisine. Visitors can purchase honey, jams, eggs, dairy products, nuts, and dried fruits. The market includes artisanal products like handmade soaps and crafts, as well as some clothing and accessories. Kitchen utensils and household items are also on offer.
Sunday mornings at the Bastille Market are perfect for gathering with friends. Pick up a dozen oysters and a bottle of champagne or crémant, then relax and watch the shoppers go by.
