The Kaziukas Fair Vilnius (Kaziuko mugė or Saint Casimir’s Fair) is a large annual folk arts and crafts fair in Vilnius, Lithuania, dating back to the 17th century. The fair is traditionally held in city’s markets and streets on the Sunday nearest to 4 March (Feast of St. Casimir), the anniversary of Saint Casimir’s death.
Over the weekend, the charming streets of Vilnius’ Old Town come alive with music and dance, and captivating street performances. The fair is as a celebration of spring’s arrival and showcases the rich Lithuanian customs, crafts, food, and folk traditions.
The Kaziukas Fair showcases a diverse array of traditional Lithuanian crafts and contemporary creations. Artisans from across Lithuania and neighbouring countries come together to present wooden carvings, textiles, pottery, and other crafts.
The Kaziukas Fair is a must-visit for foodies eager to explore traditional Lithuanian cuisine and products from small family farms. Visitors can indulge in the flavors of classic Lithuanian dishes, including cepelinai (potato dumplings), kūgelis (potato casserole), and vėdarai (Lithuanian potato sausages). The fair also offers a diverse array of smoked meats and fish, various cheeses, honey, homemade bread, cakes, traditional fair bagels, and sweet gingerbreads known as ‘Kaziukas hearts.’
