The Country and Christmas Fair is a multi-day Christmas fair in the Netherlands. The fair will not be held in 2025 as organizers search for a more authentic location that matches the original experience.
In previous years this Christmas market was held on the grounds of Slot Zeist, a grand 17th-century palace near Utrecht and Castle De Haar in Utrecht. However, due to disruptions to the parking and the event area, the organisation has decided to move to a new location, “EXPO Greater Amsterdam in Vijfhuizen” in 2024.
With over 200 stalls inside and outside offering a festive array of Christmas decorations, gift ideas, and warm winter clothes, as well as delectable treats like chocolate truffles, French roasted garlic, and feeststol, the market is a winter wonderland. For book enthusiasts, there were options for both children and grownups, while antique enthusiasts could explore unique finds.
Dutch market snacks like stroopwafel, rookworst, and braadworst sandwiches, along with sweet delights like poffertjes and churros, tempted our taste buds. Special Christmas treats such as glühwein and hot chocolate added to the festive spirit.
