The Consell flea market (Rastro de Consell) is the largest flea market of Mallorca held every Sunday, featuring a wide variety of goods, including second-hand clothes, toys, furniture, books, records, jewellery, antiques and various bric-a-brac items.
With over 300 stallholders displaying their wares, the sheer range of objects on sale is a sight to behold. There is something for everyone. However, the market has received mixed reviews: some visitors find valuable antique furniture at affordable prices, while others feel there’s too much junk with too many stalls of used clothes and few treasures.
The Consell flea market is conveniently located on an industrial area, directly on the main road connecting Palma and Inca. Parking is available in a large adjacent field for €1 with no time limit. Be aware that during busy periods you might face a wait to park, despite the large capacity. Taking the train from Palma is another option, though you’ll need to walk over 2 kilometres from the station to the market. Since there’s limited shade throughout the market, remember to bring sun protection, especially during summer months.
After shopping, you can get something to eat at one of the two cafés on site. There’s also a barbecue stand selling sausages and steak sandwiches, plus occasional other food vendors.
Market tips
- Combine your visit with a trip to the nearby market of Santa Maria del Camí (6 min drive), with a huge selection of food and non-food products. Many of the island’s top restaurants source their ingredients here.
- Make sure to have sun protection and plenty of water in the summer heat.
