Brocante Temploux is the largest flea market in Wallonia, Belgium. Once a year in August, the small town of Temploux, officially a a sub-municipality of the city of Namur, turns into a second-hand paradise.
Stretching over 6 kilometres, Brocante Temploux is a sprawling market lined with over 1000 stalls and blankets. While the market officially kicks off on Saturday at 7:00 AM, but often you can already start shopping on Friday evening. The event runs through Sunday evening, offering a weekend of browsing through a wide array of second-hand, antique, and vintage items, including glassware, ceramics, porcelain, home decoration, vintage clothes, furniture, and collectibles such as books, comics, records, coins, stamps, postcards, pins, cards, classic toys, cameras, old dolls, miniature liquor bottles, perfume samples, posters and advertising materials, enamel signs, Coca-Cola collectibles, cinema memorabilia, nautical items, inkwells and pen holders, watches, coffee grinders, piggy banks, tin soldiers, seashells, medals, salt shakers, and playing cards.
Most sellers at this flea market are professional brocante traders, so prices tend to be higher than at garage sale type flea markets. However, this also means the items for sale are carefully curated.
There’s plenty of entertainment, including live music, a funfair, and fireworks. There are also food vendors where you can grab a bite and sit and relax for a bit. You’ll find the traditional Belgian market fare of fries, burgers, sausages, cake, waffles, and more.
