The Arezzo Antiques Market (Fiera Antiquaria di Arezzo) in Tuscany, Italy, is the country’s oldest and largest antique market that draws 200,000 visitors annually to browse over 400 exhibitors. Founded by Ivan Bruschi on June 2, 1968, it was inspired by London’s Portobello Market and Paris’ Flea Market. The fair operates monthly on the first Sunday and preceding Saturday, drawing thousands of visitors and dealers from Italy and abroad.
Initially revitalising Arezzo’s war-damaged upper city and abandoned Piazza Grande, it transformed the city’s economy by attracting antique shops and artisans to the historic centre. Now managed by the Municipality of Arezzo, the fair continues to be a prestigious showcase for antiques and collectibles, maintaining its reputation as a key event in Italy’s antiquing calendar.
The fair sprawls through Arezzo’s historic centre, where the sloping Piazza Grande and medieval arcades create a picturesque backdrop. Visitors can explore art galleries, traditional shops, and enjoy Tuscan cuisine in atmospheric restaurants near Il Prato city park.
