The Aggstein Castle Christmas Market is an arts and crafts holiday market at the ruins of the Aggstein Castle in Austria. The castle is around 300 metres above the right bank of the Danube. This market serves as a season finale of the event season at the castle, blending traditional crafts with a medieval atmosphere.
For three long weekends in November, there are over 60 stalls with a great selection of products from handmade leather goods to children’s armour and unique ceramics. The Aggstein Castle Christmas Market caters to all tastes with sweet, savoury, vegetarian, meat, and fish food options. Fruity punch and aromatic glühwein are available to warm both hands and spirits.
There’s live music and a firework show every evening at 6pm.
Market tips
- Dogs are allowed, but the fireworks may be too loud for them. Please consider their wellbeing before taking them to the market.
