The La Chapelle Covered Market (Marché couvert La Chapelle), also known as the Marché de l’Olive, is a covered market located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, France. It’s one of the most beautiful indoor market buildings in Paris, built in the style of Victor Baltard, a 19th century architect. He was an associate of Haussmann, perhaps the most famous city planner in Paris. The building went through a major renovation and reopened in 2010, returning the building to its former glory.
The market is named after the Chapelle neighbourhood and is primarily situated along Rue de l’Olive. It offers a wide variety of products, for instance fresh produce, clothing, household items, and more. This market is also known for its multicultural offerings, reflecting the diverse community in the area.
At the La Chapelle Covered Market, visitors can find a colourful assortment of fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, and other grocery items. Local farmers and vendors proudly display their fresh produce, often sourced from nearby regions.
